Day 10...

Ten Days and we can say we are off to the "rink races".  We had to kick of a group of hockey skaters tonight that braved the uneven sheet.

Kris, Bill, Dave, Peter, John and Kurt chipped away the upper ice before laying down two coats on each.

Upper = 13 coats

Lower = 15 coats

-10ºC but felt like -19ºC.

Dave brought down his blower to blast of the ice dust from chopping the ridges. (Ghost Busters)
Kurt started a fire with one match, and some petroleum product.
First coat on the lower ice as we listen to the Calgary Flames lose to Tampa Bay.
Warming up before hydrating.

Looks like warm weekend and Monday ahead. The skaters and Sunshine should help to level the sheets this weekend so let's take a break and regroup next week.

Keeping the hose on the ice,

Kurt
