Tonight has set a two year record. Skatable ice in the Month of March.
Thanks to Jeff, Craig, Adrian, Austin, Glenn, Kris, John, and Kurt for putting down three coats on the upper and two on the lower.
Total 53 on the upper.
Total 52 on the lower.
We met a group of hockey players on the lower hockey ice and had asked it they could help scrape giving them time to keep playing. Meanwhile, we started getting the upper ice prepared.
After letting the kids (18-49yr olds), play for a while longer - we found out it was a birthday celebration. One of the players had turned 18 years old and had requested to his parents that all he wanted was to celebrate by playing hockey with is friends and relatives at Rosemont.
Turns out Kurt knew the parents, Kelly and Jody from high school, so we let the play on the condition that they help us scrape after. Great group of players and they did a good job of clearing the lower for water.
Happy Birthday ADAM!
I know it is sad, but we did talk about the wind up party in three weeks or so.
Details to come.
Keeping the hose on the ice,
Thanks,
Kurt

Finally Some HELP and Water
The warm weather has been a problem we can't control. Last Monday we only had Craig Ian and Kurt show up, but the weather was just right to flood. Problem was we needed more help.
Tonight was great we had Claire, Craig, Ian, Kris and Kurt to put down two coats on the lower and one big coat on the upper. This week looks cold enough to keep the ice going for another week. MARCH might be still skatable.
Hope to see more on Thursday night.
Keep the hose on the ice,
Kurt
Hard to believe this was two weeks ago and the weather was -25ÂșC.

Nice Turn-out Tonight...
Big thanks to the team tonight.
Ian, Kris, John, Craig, Andrew P., Mark "Lucky" (The new guy), and Kurt put down two coats.
Total = 48 Coats on each.
We had to hydrate around the fire and wait for the water to freeze before we put down the second coat. As we always chat about a wide range of topics during the hydration process, someone was asking about
Bud.
"Where is Bud?"
We are a Go for Monday,
Keep the hose on the ice,
Kurt
John's kids made the snow fort on Tuesday since shinny was cancelled they needed to keep playing outside.
The team warming up by the fire.

Tonne of snow...
Well it was a big battle today.
Kris and Kurt started blowing snow at 3 PM today. The new blower Kris was using was causing some issues and was retired around 4:30 PM.
The team showed up like clockwork at 7 PM to help scrape the lower ice. Extremely difficult scraping after the blower left snow for a few hours.
Ian, Craig, Andrew, Kris, Adrian, Glenn, Jeff, and Kurt scraped for 2.5 hours on the lower ice to clear off snow. We couldn't flood due to snow fall.
Shots from earlier today/// roughly 8 inches of snow to blow off.
GREAT WORK TEAM!!!!

Three coats with a great team;
Ian, Jeff, Claire, John, Andrew P., Craig, Kris, and Kurt were able to lay down three generous coats and had time for some laughs by the fire pit.
