Cold and Snow

Weather has changed . Monday Dec 29th Flood cancelled due to cold & snow.Also World Juniors Hockey on.However Kurt said "Andy went solo last night and cleared the upper ice on his own, thanks ANDY."

The Boxing Day, Oval

It snowed overnight so Bud shovel the upper rink so there would be an oval around it's perimeter. So now's it's another feature of the rinks.

17th time Christmas Party, Now over 40 coats .

Sheila warmed up some Spolumbo's sausages and Bud chilled some Calgary beer ,for the team. So Kurt,Kris, Keith, Biagio, Ian, Andrew, Jamie, Dave & Bud could cleaned and added four coats to each rink. Now 42 coats on the upper and 41 coats on the lower. Merry Christmas, next flood is Monday, December 29th at 8 pm.

Kurt added. Just a reminder, If anyone is able to help out with the Casino night next year at the Elbow River Casino, Feb 22-23rd, please contact Ian @ iceian Kirkland for times and dates there are a few times that still need to be filled. Hope everyone has a great time with family and friends over the next few days.

16 time, Kurt's report

Monday, Dec .15th Andrew(new guy), Grant, Kris, Jamie, Jeff, Ian, Dave and Kurt put down three coats. Then Next Monday Night Dec.22 will be our Christmas Cheer ice guys annual. Note from Bud. We haven't had snow for along time.Now 38 coats on upper and 37 on lower rink.

ALSO ; this Saturday Dec. 13th starting at 7 pm is our annual Flood Fest. Where the Ice Guys put down as many coats as they can, and have a Bar-B-Q it's like the Old , Flood, Sweat and Beers ;-)

15th time Kurt's report

We put another three coats on the ice tonight. Bud, Kris, Andre, Dave and Kurt finished off the pre-season flooding now we are going every Monday and Thursday at 8 PM. Next week is going to be warm so Monday is most likely not going to be good for flooding. Andre' and I are not going to be down next week so Bud is in charge. Now 35 coats on the upper and 34 on the lower. Flood fest was scheduled for Friday night Dec 12th, but weather is a big factor so we are thinking of an alternate date of Thursday Dec. 17th we will keep you posted.

14th Flood.

Kurt , Kris, Jr, John & Andre' added three coats to each rink now 32 on upper and 31 on lower. Note we meet a 7 pm tomorrow to flood and cut the ribbon on Kurt's new goalies , "Ric Ochet" and "Ping", Then we don't meet again until Monday the 8th at 8pm.

13 time Dec. 2nd

Grant opened the door so Andre' could lead the team of; Jamie, Mattie, Ian, Biagio & Grant to add three coats to each. So now 29 on upper and 28 coats on lower,

Captain Kurt's Icelog Dec.2nd , 2014 ;-)

Well we are finally getting good skate-able ice!!! Thanks to our hard work it is finally starting to POP up and off the grass. We will flood tonight, tomorrow and Thursday at 7:00 PM Then we should be on track to go every Monday and Thursday night at 8:00 PM next week. Stamps Won and 12th Time

The Stampeders won the 102 Grey Cup in Vancouver against the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Yahoo ! Tonight ; Kurt, Bud, Glenn, Dave, Andrea, & Austin, cleaned and added 3 coats so now 26 on the upper and 25 on the lower. The Flood Fest is going to be next Friday Dec. 12th.

No Skaters lately, snow & it's cold

A HUGE thanks goes out to Andre Saturday! He fired up the blower and threw the snow off both sheets. Been too cold to flood these past few days and the with the Grey Cup game tonight, lets meet Monday and the rest of the week at 7:00 PM. Weather looks ideal for numerous coats, the ice is still a bit rough so as much water as we can throw down the better. Captain Kurt.Go Stamps Go !

Thursday 11th time

We finally had some snow about 2 inches, Kris & Kurt cleaned both rinks with Bruno the Blower.Later Bud repaired the hockey nets and Kurt, Andrea, Ian, Claire,Grant, Dave and new guy Deven cleaned and laid down 3 Coats , Now 23 coats on Upper and 22 Lower.Pictures by Kurt.

Tues. 10th time now 20 coats

Bud, Kurt, Andrea, Dave and Austin added two coats to each and set up the benches. Now 20 coats of the upper , (North) and 19 on the lower. NOTE, last season it was earlier, Nov. 20th and our 12th flood before we hit 20 coats.

Monday 9x

Glen, Andre and Kurt, two coats, one light then second big flood.18 coats upper & 17 lower.Still no snow.

Sunday Nov. 23 flood 8th x

Andre, Kris, Ian, Biagio and Keith added two coats to each rink. Now 16 on upper and 15 on lower.

Pizza Night, Thanks to Nicks

It was to warm to flood, so we had a safety meeting and ate pizzas. Tonight's crew consisted of: Jeff,Glenn,Kurt,Andrea, Bud,Dave,Kris, Ian,Brad and Biagio.We will try flooding again on Sunday at 7pm because the weather should be colder. Thanks to Nick's Steak House and Pizza for their donation.

Wed. Nov. 19th report 7th time

Andre, Claire, Kurt, Biagio put down two coats on each sheet. We tested the snow blower and got reacquainted with it. It fired right up on the first put. Now 14 coats on the upper & 13 on the lower rink.

Tuesday Nov.18th 6th time

Kurt, Andrea, JR, Grant & John added two coats to each rink, so now there's 12 coats on the top rink and 11 on the bottom. Please join us tomorrow and/or Wednesday as we have a special night planned.

Monday night; Kris, Kurt, Andrea, Biagio, Dave, Lucas,added two coats to each rink , so now 10 coats on the upper and 9 on the lower.

Kris the keener got there early and put a coat on each rink. Later Bud, Kurt,Andre.Jesse & lan added another two coats to each rink. Now 6 coats on upper and 5 on lower. Good work TEAM. C U 2Morrow at 9.30am

Thursday Nov. 13 , 2014 Second night

What a Team Effort; Jr used his 4x4 to pull the board across the lower rink to take out some ridges, then Kurt, Jr, Brad, Andre, Andy, Bud, Jessie,and new guy Michael added 2 coats to each rink. Now 3 coats on upper and 2 on lower. Hope to see you tomorrow, Friday at 7 pm.

The 2014 -15 Season has Started as of Nov.12th 2014

Hello ALL, OK, Great work to; Andre, Jamie and his son, Mattie, Grant and his daughter, Danielle, Kurt and his daughter,Paulina, who showed up to pack and flood… Way to go! Thanks Grant for the great packing again and making the job look easy with your truck. We have a good base on the upper. It took us about an hour but we got some good crust going up there. Tomorrow night we will get the lower started and do as much as we can. I think we better really soak the thing tomorrow. The new hose worked out great no leaks in the connection and it drains real nice. With the storage container and bin in the way it does make it difficult to navigate the hose. I will get the bin moved next time in front of the man door to give us some more room. We are a GO for tomorrow at 7 PM (JR is dropping off your Potato orders), Friday 7 PM and Saturday Morning around 9:30 AM, Sunday night 7 PM… Then we will see how the week goes next week. Wednesday Night… Grant is bringing his truck down on Wednesday night (6:30PM) to pack the base. This usually take about an hour we only need a couple of guys to help rig up his truck and watch him turn the field. Let me know if you can help. Thursday night at 7 PM… “JR” is bringing you your Potato and honey orders and we can settle up with him. We will start the flooding/SLURPIE as well this will take a couple of hours with taking turns on the hose. More guys the better…
