Grant Parks' Final Shinny Report

The 2013/2014 shinny season has drawn to a close. It has been a fantastic year. 24 children were registered this season and on many nights we had turnouts of 20+. It has been a cold winter and we had 8 outdoor sessions. The ice at the ODR was the best in recent memory… thanks Ice Guys! It is very rewarding to see the kids develop substantially over a 2 month period. Each child made obvious and large improvements in their skating and hockey skills. However, the most important thing is that everyone had a lot of fun!! Thanks are extended to: · The Ice Guys: for providing such an appreciated resource… the ICE! · The coaches: Grant Parks & Todd Layton · The assistant coaches: Danielle Parks & Paulina Westergard · The brains of the operation: Jean Blackstock · The parent: for freezing on the sidelines while their kids were warm on the ice It was a great year. Have a great spring/summer everyone!

38X Sounds like it's over

Report: Brad, Andre, Ian, John, Jessie, Kurt put two coats on each sheet. That's it for flooding for the year. Kurt Now 76 coats on the lower and 74 on the upper.

Hey, Ian and I made the trip down, no one else showed up left at 8:17. Stay warm all you fair-weather guys. Just kidding! Cheers KURT... Looks like they checked the ice and it was ok , anyway. ;-)Regards Bud

The thank you party

Kurt, Biagio, Jesse, Andre, Bud,Ian, John & Brad, all enjoyed Calgary, "Bo " and other beers plus Pizzas thanks to Nick's and our Slush Fund also wings thanks to Brad's sister "De-Nice " Thanks to all the other members of the Ice Team who couldn't make the party.Remember the rinks are still working and this cold weather may extend this season.
