Skaters Helping Out...

 Bill, Ian, Kris and Kurt(below), put down two coats on each tonight. We started scraping at our usual time at 8 pm. When we got there there was a group of skater playing a game of shinny on the lower. We told them that we are flooding tonight, but we will let you keep skating on the lower while we scrape the upper. We also asked if they could help us clear/scrape the lower when ready. So thanks to the above group of skaters that helped out.

Total Coats
Lower = 37 coats
Upper = 31 coats

So far 2019 has been mild with above normal temperatures. Last night was about -5ºC with no wind.

Hard Work Last Night!!!!

Wow.
Really could have used some more iceguys last night. Big thanks to Bill, Craig and Kurt who were  brave enough to come out to play in the snow.
We spent 2 hours on the lower and ran out of energy to clear the upper rink. Please feel free to head down and create some Whoopsie Doodles on the upper tonight.

 Keeping a smile on at -18ºC.

Had to "Hydrate" after all that work!

Shinny Hockey Tonight...

The ice was great tonight!

Shinny hockey started tonight at 5 PM. Great turn out with over 20 kids of all ages and skill levels.
Grant and Jean did a great job of organizing and getting the players on the ice and keeping them warm. Temp was cold enough to make the parents stomp their feet and rub their hands while keeping an eye on kid.

I took some shots:

Let's plan to flood Thursday. Weather is warming up again.

Polished it Up For Shinny

Thanks to Bill, Andy, Craig, Kris and Kurt who put down a finished polished coat on the rinks.

Total Coats
Lower = 29 coats
Upper = 23 coats.

Just an observation that we made last night, that this might be the longest time without the "whoopsie-doodles". We haven't had any snow accumulation to make them. IT'S COMING!

I'm sure Jean, Grant, and Kris will do a great job tomorrow getting the kid's on the ice and showing them the skills of hockey.

Kurt

Thirsty Last Night...

Well, its been over eight days since we gave the rinks any water and they were both very thirsty.
Giving the rinks water last night were Bud, John, Kris, Peter, Bill, Jeff, Craig and Kurt.

Total

Upper = 22 coats

 Shinny hockey starts this Tuesday and we were able to hydrate the ice making it Rosemont Ready.
