Friday Afternoon...

Two Coats last night..

Upper = 26

Lower = 26

Amazingly, considering how warm it was, Andrew P., Andrian, Peter, John M. and Eddie (the new Iceyguy), were able to lay down two coats on upper, and One on the lower.

This was a shot around 12:00 noon today. Great shape considering the heat.

Looks like it's getting used and we should all be proud of our efforts.  Just spoke with at skater today and they had no idea there was outdoor ice!!

Day 13, 2 days Before Christmas....

 ... We did it!!!

One Coat last night..

Upper = 17

Lower = 18

 Last night night was a skeleton crew.

Lower = 17

Upper = 16 Total

Day 11, 4 Days 'til Christmas.

 Day 11

Upper = 15 coats

Lower = 16 coats

Two coats and 30 mins between them, we were able to lay down some smooth H2O. We have been chatting about putting the nets out, but being so warm we will wait til the 23rd.

Thanks to the efforts of these guys...
...Some skaters came up and thanked us for all the hard work. They complimented us on how nice the ice is in the warm conditions.

Day 9&10, 5 More 'Til Christmas...

 Well Team, Nozzle was on last night.

Total Coats

Upper 13                                Woke up to +9ยบ C

Lower 14

Keeping the nozzle on from now on will make for stronger Ice. Andrew G., was inspecting the shavings from the skaters last night and determined that we should now keeping using the nozzle.

We are a go again tonight at 8 PM.

Also looking ahead to the 5 days before Christmas regarding the nets. We will do a last flood on the 23rd and set the nets off in the snow/Grass before we leave that night.

Day 8, Seems Fast...

 Only eight days ago would Mother Nature let us start making ice, and here we are very skatable.

Andre, Andrew G., Peter, Craig, Kris, Bill, Andrew P., Jamie, Andy! 

Two Coat are on tonight so 12 Coats Total.

The Public is eager to get out and skate. Craig is letting these girls know when we are flooding. And going over some of the hurdles we have had to go through getting to at least this point!

Warm nights are making the ice freeze at a slow pace, no air bubble.

Let's go at 8 PM now. Kurt was checking out the timer, there seems to be an issue with it again.

Day 7, One Coat Night

 Nine Coats Total on Day 7

The team got out there and laid down another coat around 7 pm.

Let's Go a bit later tonight say 8 PM maybe get two coats on.

Kurt was down Saturday Morning to check out the ice. He met this guy, Scott from Saskatoon. Scott forgot a puck cause he didn't think the ice was smooth enough... So Kurt found one in the shed for him to throw around the rink. Scott mentioned how nice this was to have close to home, He is a student living in Capitol hill.

Day6. Slowing Getting There...

 First time for Everything, THEY say!

8 coats on each so far.

Well it's day 6 and we put the nozzle on the lower rink after the first shovel of the season. 

Kris, Andrew and Andrew, Jeff, Bill, Peter and Kurt worked hard to scrape of the layer of snow on the lower rink. First time for the nozzle on it.

Day 5, Looking Really Good!

 Day 5

Two coats tonight  Total is 7 coats each.

Wow if only the weather is as predicable as these bunch of IceGuys. The warm weather should level and smooth out our efforts.

 total coats = 5 each.

It looks like minus five degrees tonight. Let's get on it while we can, Thursday looks too warm and snow.

The gang showed up last night and put down two coats, amazing to have the first coat freeze.

Day 3, New IceGuy...

 Day 3 and three coats in Three Days.

Kris, Willem, Emmett the new Ice, Andrew, Bill, Jamie, Andrew P. and Kurt got to work on a third coat on day 3. Sunday was cancelled due to the crazy warm weather, but It's A Go for tonight Monday at 7 pm.
